Issues Facing University Heights

Finances
* We need to ensure financial stability for the future of UHeights.
* It is evident from the attached study of UHeights finances, based on their amended submission, that our city's financial situation is tight.
* Historical revenue growth will not meet our current expense growth rate if the St. Andrew Church decides not to move and services will need to be reduced.
* We need individuals on the Council with financial expertise who can improve our financial control tools with better tracking, increased long-term capital planning and regular monthly financial reports.
* As shown by the attached graph (UHeights is the red line), in 1994 we enjoyed the lowest tax rate in Johnson County. Now we have one of the highest tax rates allowed by law, and we simply cannot raise that rate again to meet expenses.
